“Dear Everyone,
“Last Friday we went to Rail Rail. We looked for birds, saw a newt and a toad. We climbed a rock wall and ate snack.”-Caleb
“Matilda and Emma caught a big frog and people started singing. Tomorrow we came back and the big frog was gone.”-Matilda
“This week we played Empire game. Zooey was a pretty princess and had guards. Me, Cole and Eden were trying to capture Zooey.”-Colby
“This week, the school played Empire. We were rich. We battled with apples. The empire has a throne. Two people could sit on it. It was very fun because we did cool stuff.”-JJ
“In art we made puppets and mine is a princess. Meghann taught us how to make puppets. It was hard to learn how to make them. It is so much fun because I love art and I get to use my imagination.”-Charlie
“Talon played with Addis. They played Ninja.”-Talon
“In the past few weeks we have been doing Writer’s Workshop. Writer’s workshop is a class where we write sometimes with prompts and sometimes just stories. Dianne comes up and helps with the classes or helps people with their stories. I have a ton of ideas and so does everyone else. Everyone enjoys it.”-Eden
“Yesterday, we had a great writer’s workshop. We were writing stories. Zooey was writing a historical fiction book. I was writing historical fiction too. Addis is writing about kids that are elves. Nic is writing about Jeffanater. Colby is writing about an African bull. Eden is writing a fiction book about creatures. Caleb is writing about his best Saturday ever. It was awesome.”-Rebecca (Thank you Dianne for supporting writer’s workshop!)
“Me, Eden and Cole played soccer on the field.”-Beckett
“This week we got new math games including a game called Farkle. Farkle is a little bit like Yahtzee but you play it with 6 dice and the object is to score 10,000 points. Not 10 points, not 100 points, not 1,000 points! 10,000 points! Another game we got is to double twelve dominoes. I don’t know how to play. I think we got other games…I think….P.S the Farkle dice rattling are REALLY loud.”-Addis
“Today, Logan is visiting. He will be coming this afternoon at the second outside time. I’m going to be his host which means I will be showing him around and introducing him. The reason I will be his host is because I know him and Karen thinks he will be more comfortable with someone he knows. I hope he comes to this school.”-Zooey
“Today the owls had a drill for safety. We had quiet time.”-Hazel
“This week we had cooking. We made bread and butter for Grandparent’s day. Grandparents’s Day is on Friday the 4th. We put cream in a jar and shook it and it turned into butter.”-Cole
“We are making bread and butter. Friday is grandparents day. We cooked for them. The ingredients are yeast, water, honey, olive oil, flour and salt. Yeast is bacteria. Yeast farts a lot.”-Nicolas
“We made bread and butter because we were having our grandparents over. We massaged the dough and shook the butter.”-Emma
“The owls made grandparents day art and wrote grandparents day letters.”-Gabriel (Please check them out on the bulletin board outside the owls’ classroom).
“Tomorrow is Grandparents’ Day. We are going to blow stuff up with Grandpa David and we will also make books. Yesterday, we made bread and butter and we made bread and butter and we are going to bring it to Grandparent’s Day. And tomorrow we will eat it. And the next day is Grandparents’ Day.”-Ryder (Update- Thank you Grandpa David for coming and blowing stuff up!)
