About the event
Join author and Mystery Maven Roxie Zwicker for an enchanted evening exploring the mysteries, traditions and magic of the Halloween season. October offers us many symbolic decorations, from nuts, pumpkins, scarecrows and cornstalks, but what does it all mean? The ghostly veil to the other world is at its thinnest at this time and the fields are bare, the leaves have fallen from the trees, as the skies are going gray and a chilling energy creeps through the air!
Roxie will share the many traditions of the spookiest season and guests will discover fascinating little known superstitions, folklore and stories. This engaging presentation features a large variety of vintage photos and ephemera to bring guests back in a virtual time machine of Halloween from ghostly Victorian gatherings through spooky traditions of the 1920s (many pieces from Roxie’s personal collection). Make your season more meaningful, with a look at Halloween curiosities…
