Join us for an in-person excursion into the woods to explore, in real life, resident birds and their habitats. March is owl-breeding season, so the late-day timing of this walk is designed to increase our chances of encountering an owl, as elusive as they are.

Join us for an in-person excursion into the woods to explore, in real life, resident birds and their habitats. March is owl-breeding season, so the late-day timing of this walk is designed to increase our chances of encountering an owl, as elusive as they are.
Participants should bring binoculars, clothes and shoes appropriate for the season/weather, including bringing traction like microspikes, and a headlamp/flashlight. We will travel on trails and fairly level — but potentially slippery and uneven — terrain. Expect to spend 1.5 hours outside looking for owls and exploring the concepts of bird habitat along the way. All participants must be able to hike or snowshoe 1-2 miles in all weather conditions. Meet at the Visitor Center.
