“Dear Everyone,

“Math card game. On Monday we played a game called Flip. We all had whiteboards and Sarah had a deck of cards. Sarah would call a math operation (addition, subtraction or multiplication) and flip over a 2-3 cards. (ex. Sarah calls “subtraction!” and flips over an 8 or a 3 (8-3)). Then we do the problem. After that we played another game. We split into teams. Sarah would give one team a math problem to solve and once the problem was solved the other team would use the answer to make change from one dollar. Man that was fun! Catch ya later!”-Addis

“The trout are eating!!! They are eating in the tank because they are hungry.”-JJ

“Trout check in. So the trout are doing great! They are doing so good that we’ve probably only lost 20%? We have to start feeding them since they swam up! Yay! Today (it’s Thursday) we had to add 5 gallons of water to the tank. We have to feed them 2 times a day in the morning and afternoons. We also have to be super diligent in cleaning the tank because of left over food and fish poop. If it gets moldy it makes bad bacteria grow and that’s bad! They’re getting so big! They have fins now! They’re really active too! We’re going to release them into the tank in 2 weeks. Well, that is what’s going on with the route this week.Bye!”-Zooey

“This week Alley said to the owls, bring in signs of spring. Mischa brought…in ducks because ducks are born in spring. There were yellow ones and one was black. The yellow ones are Mischa’s and the black one is Mickey’s.”-Cole

“This week we went on with Because of Mr.Terupt. We are on page 63. In Because of Mr.Terupt, Mr. T had them count all the blades of grass. They counted them by cutting a 10×10 centimeter square. In the middle of the cardboard they estimated how many squares in the field. All in all I highly recommend the book Because of Mr. Terupt.”-Cian

“On Thursday Maxine came in and talked about St. Patrick’s day. First, she told us that she would talking about Ireland and St.Patrick’s day. She asked us to guess how old Ireland is. I guessed that it was 5-10 thousand years old. It was 6 thousand. Next, we did the same thing but for population. It was six million. We did the same thing with other questions. Next, we learned our Leprechaun names. To get our Leprechaun names we had a chart, and we matched our first name the last name and BAM! At the end we got to eat Irish bread called soda bread. Over all, it was great!” (Thank you so much Maxine!)

“This week on Friday we went to the Manchester archives with Shawn. Shawn is a curator for the Manchester Historical Society. We went to the basement of the library and looked at a bunch of cool artifacts like an old gun, memorial picture of Vermont’s second company and Ulysses S.Grant’s wife’s actual piece of paper that she signed. P.S Ulysses S.Grant was the eighteenth president also the leader of the Union army. We also learned a lot, I took a bunch of notes. It was a lot of fun and Shawn was really helpful. (Thank you Shawn!)
